Steamed Egg

I don't know if this dish originally comes from china or japan, in Japan, steamed egg called Chawan Mushi and I think they add tofu or something and it produces a very soft texture.

I ate this for lunch and I just develop my mom's original recipe into this.

Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 big chicken leg (around 150gr)
2 medium champignon mushrooms
1 asparagus
Some bokchoy
Actually just add everything you like (as long as it don't over-fill the bowl)

how to :
1. Chop everything up except the eggs (make sure they have mutual sizes)
2. Prepare a medium size bowl (mine is around 20cm in diameter and 8cm in depth)
3. put the egg in and stir it up.
4. Add everything you had chopped before.
5. Give some flavour, add salt, pepper, MSG,soy sauce, and some sugar would be perfect.
6. Add water into the bowl and just left like 2cm from the top side of the bowl. (It prevent you from spilling it and prevent your thumb going inside it when you serve it)
7. And then just simply steam it for like 15 minutes (or until it kinda harden). If you dont have steamer, you can do double-boiling method instead, but cover the bowl. But you also can just put it in the microwave for about 10-13 minutes.

PS : the original recipe only use ground pork, and it uses more eggs (it has harder texture).

Chocolate Cookies

I made this recipe by combining some gingerbread recipes, and change most of the ingredients and turn this into a chocolate cookies recipe :) My boyfriend (and his mom) loves it. *blushing*
Also my lil brother, even he tried to steal a whole jar for himself. @_@

Ingredients :

4 egg yolks
2-3 egg whites
around 200 gr of sugar
300 gr butter
550 gr flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 sachets of your fav instant hot choco powder / instant choco milk powder
cocoa powder (use as much as you like until it tastes as you want it)

How to :
1.Mix the butter and the sugar until it soften and kinda puffy. Then add the eggs gradually.
2. Sift the cocoa powder & instant hot choco / choco milk powder, baking soda and the flour.
3. Add the flour into the batter gradually. Mix it evenly.
4. Wrap everything up with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
5. Leave on room temperature for about 15 min, then cut it up with cookie cutter.
6. Heat the oven, and bake it at 180 celcius degree for about 15 minutes depends on how thick is your cookie dough.

Note :
- If you don't have cookie cutter, you could make one from a paper. Draw the design on a paper (star / man / heart-shaped), then cut it up with a scissors. then you just put it on the cookie dough ( that have been flattened before) then cut with a knife according to the paper.

Beef Lasagna

Today's recipe is Beef Lasagna, requested by Casey :)
Lasagna is some kind of pasta that comes in form of sheets. You may buy it in most supermarket that sells imported goods.
This dish is not hard, but you must be careful.
My boyfriend and my little brother love this :)

Ingredients :

250 gr lasagna
salt, pepper, and sugar

for meat sauce:
500 gr minced beef
1 onion
2 cups of chicken/beef stock
lots of tomato sauce :p
oil

(you may add another ingredients you like such as carrot, real tomatoes)

for cheese sauce:
around 300 gr grated cheddar cheese (kraft cheese)
2 slices of bega cheese (or another cheese that may melt)
around 500 ml milk
2 small packs of butter
(you may add another ingredients such as cream cheese, dairy cream)

How to make the meat sauce:
1. Dice the onion evenly (and carrot or tomatoes if you want to add it)
2. In a wok (or big frying pan) heat some oil, and put the onion (wait for a moment and then the carrot) until it smells nice and looks withered.
3. Put the minced beef, and stir until it changes colour.
4. Put the chicken/beef stock, tomato sauce, salt and pepper, little bit sugar (and tomatoes), then stir. Add tomato sauce until it looks red enough.
5. Taste it, if it's too sour/too tasty, add more water. If it's just not right but you don't know what is it, add some more salt and sugar.

How to make the cheese sauce:
1. Melt the butter
2. Put the milk (and/or dairy cream) stir until thick
3. Put the bega chesse and grated cheese (and cream cheese), stir evenly
4. Put salt and pepper.
5. Taste it and fix it.

How to put everything together :
1. On a cake pan, or thermostable bowl. Put the meat sauce, then the cheese sauce, then the lasagna. Do this until it form layers of meat-cheese-lasagna-meat-cheese-lasagna-..... The top layer must be cheese.
2. Heat the oven on 180 celcius
3. Bake the lasagna for about 10-20 minutes.

Note : Make sure you put a lot of meat sauce on the top of lasagna layer. The moisture is really important to make the lasagna cooked softly.

Grilled Tuna

It's a very simple dish.

How to :
1. Slash the tuna fillet, so that the marinade sauce will seep in.

2. Marinade a fillet tuna with salt, pepper, sesame oil (my favorite to marinade sth), seafood soysauce (my favorite on every dish), basically, just add anything you like, as long as it tastes good.
3. Leave it for sometime, around 20 minutes.

5. Flip it over to cook the other side. Grill for another moment.
6. Garnish with your favorite mayonnaise..

Wheat Fried Shrimp

This is also my little brother's favorite. We ate this for dinner yesterday :)
I'd say, this dish is at medium level. It's not easy.

Ingredients:

around 500 gr medium / large shrimps/prawns
2 maggi blocks
an egg
6-8 tbs margarine
7-11 tbs instant oatmeal
3-4 pandan leaves
1/2 big red chilli, open them up and throw the seeds away.
salt
pepper
sugar
flour
sesame oil

1. Peel the shrimps/prawns, but not the tail. Put them in a bowl
2. put around 1 tbsp sesame oil and 1 maggi block into the shrimps/prawns, you may add salt or pepper if you like. Mix them well, and let them soak in.
3. Chop pandan leaves and chilli evenly.
4. Scroll the shrimps/prawns into the flour.
5. Deep fry the shrimps/prawns until golden brown. Remember to deep fry, not deep burn them.
6. On another frying pan or a wok (I prefer a wok), Melt the margarine at high heat.
7. On a bowl, beat an egg.
8. Still at high heat, pour the beaten egg gradually while you stir the egg and the margarine.
It shouldn't look like scrambled egg.
9. Put around 2-4 tbsp sugar, and 1 maggi block. Stir well.
10. Put chopped chilli & pandan leaves. Stir well.
11. Put oatmeal gradually while you stirring it. The oatmeal will absorb the margarine, so it should look dry and crispy.
12. Put the shrimps/prawns. Fry them for a while.

Note :
-Shrimps/Prawns are really quick to cook. Make sure you don't overcooked them.
-Make sure your oil is hot enough when you deep fry the shrimps/prawns.To make sure the heat of your oil, throw some flour into them, if the oil is hot enough, the flour will look like boiling.
-If you're confused whether the shrimps/prawns are cooked or not, this is how my shrimps look like :

Omelette Rice (Omurice)

Omelette Rice is a Japanese Dish that is very delicious and soft. This is my little brother's favorite :)

This recipe won't include the fried rice recipe.

Ingredients :
1 bowl of fried rice
1 egg
few tbs Oil

How to :
1. Mix the egg with some salt and pepper. Mix it well until it's little bit frothy.
2. Heat the frying pan, and spread the oil on the pan.
3. Turn your stove into low heat, quickly put the egg and spread it on the entire pan.
4. When the egg is half-cooked, put the fried rice on the center of the egg.
5. Quickly fold the egg to cover the fried rice before the egg cooked.
You can fold the egg anyway you like. I like it square. :)

Note : to make it easier to fold, when you put the fried rice on the egg, just flip the bowl upside down, so the fried rice will stay in the form of the bowl. It'll make you easier to fold the egg.
